Heiwa
Age: 2.5 years
Rank: Soldier
Height: 2’3”
Personality:
Daydreamer: Heiwa spends a lot of time with his head in the clouds. He enjoys the more peaceful pursuit of cloud and star gazing to the more hectic thrills of battle. He often talks about shapes in the clouds, confusing other members of his herd who see clouds as clouds and certain flowers as food. His seeming lack of focus has made his position of soldier questionable, but his strength is an asset that easily set him into the soldier tier despite his wishes. Daydreaming is one way he copes after battles. He gets very agitated if there are no clouds when he needs to cope.
Pacifist: Had Heiwa known dominating play fights as a kid would put him into a position where he’s required to fight, he probably would have spent his younger days losing the fights and feigning weakness. Unbeknownst to the rest of his herd, Heiwa is an avid pacifist who would rather listen to the thoughts and advice of the intellectual, Affected members of the herd than be sent to battle over disputed land. His only exception to his pacifism is if the herd is attacked by a predator, as he values the members of his herd over his dislike of violence. Heiwa is unlikely to ever participate in the Siv unless he can find a female without competition from other males.
Obedient: Despite… or possibly because of his pacifism, Heiwa is very obedient to the Prime and the Prince when he has to be. He hates conflict with other goennecs and finds obeying orders is easier for him than rebelling even if the orders go against who he is. This silent bottling of his own nature is both how he survived as a soldier for so long and a cause for quite a bit of self-loathing on his part.
Avoidant: Heiwa’s other answer to staying out of conflicts is to avoid them all together. As much as he obeys orders, there are times he realizes there will be orders he does not like. If that happens, he does not hesitate to make himself scarce under the guise of his “unfocused” nature. It is his avoidance that finally gives way to his final decision.
Mistrusting: There was a time when Heiwa’s pacifism led him to the naive view that everyone in the herd is inherently good. Unfortunately, that trust of others led to tragedy, leaving Heiwa is suspicious of outsiders. However, once he trusts a goennec, he’s likely to be easy to manipulate until he realizes he’s being used.
Not Ambitious: Heiwa has a fairly strong lack of ambition for his future. His apparent strength and vibrant coloration has placed him squarely in the soldier tier, but he would not care if he was considered weak and undesirable enough for the peasant tier. He has no will to compete to be next in line for Prince and admires that there are other males who actually want the position so he won’t be pushed into it like he was with his current position.
