Perci
Name: Perci (shortening of the order Perciformes which grouper are a part of)
Age: 6
Height: 2'5"
Rank: Soldier
Personality:
Narcissistic:
Vain: Perci thinks very highly of himself when it comes to his looks. He's often seen grooming his fur and won't stop until he considers it to be perfect. Incidentally, his vanity keeps him from wanting any part in battles because his fur might be stained with blood. He is often found lounging with Heiwa during border disputes unless those disputes become violent enough for his strength to be needed, in which case he constantly complains about getting his fur dirty. Venus grudgingly deals with his vanity because having Perci back with the elderly, the peasants and the kids might be beneficial if there is an ambush.
Arrogant: Not only is Perci vain, but he also arrogant about his position in the herd. He often looks down on others and expects them to respect him as above them. He gets rather upset when others treat him as "just another soldier" and will often try to correct them with claims of superiority. Often these claims lead to Perci talking his herdmates' ears off until they agree to whatever point he was trying to make. He doesn't seem to realize that some agree with him just to get out of his speech of how great he is.
Outgoing: Despite his arrogance, Perci loves to socialize with his herdmates. He can hold rather interesting conversations when he's not bragging about himself. Sometimes he'll even break out into stories about distant herds or mythology that none of the other goennecs have ever heard. Of course, everyone knows he makes all of his stories up, but that doesn't keep others from enjoying them. Heiwa and Luno can often be found talking to Perci because of his storytelling prowess.
Slightly Delusional: There is a reason that Perci is as arrogant as he is. As a kid, his parents told him that he would definitely be chosen as the next Prince and raised him to be in such a position. Venus's delayed pick of Regal for Prince hit Perci hard and instead of accepting it, Perci convinced himself that he was the Prime and that Venus was the Prince while Regal was Venus's choice for the next Prince. The age discrepancy between them doesn't factor into Perci's logic and he often ignores it when it's brought up. He has not done anything to take the position of Prime and most (including Venus and Regal) view his delusions as harmless seeing as he comes through when the herd is in a pinch.
Oblivious: With Perci's delusion comes obliviousness. He cannot read people at all and never realizes when his actions are getting annoying to his herdmates. Things often must be stated for him to get what others are thinking, but most don't state their annoyances with him because he'll find a way to turn their criticism or statement into a bragging fit. His obliviousness also spreads to gossip and what's going on in the herd, often leaving him clueless of potential danger or lost if there's a gathering among the herd.
Likes:
Himself: There is obviously nothing more in the world that Perci loves more than himself. He does care for others but they will always take the position under him. The only time he puts others above him is when it would be something a Prime should do because of his delusion.
Streams: Perci loves streams, rivers, or even puddles. They help him with his grooming, and he can often be found glancing into one when he's not busy talking to others or eating. He can't swim, however, so he is quite vulnerable to falling in and drowning.
Cleanliness: Perci must be clean and look good. He will groom himself extensively until this cleanliness is accomplished. Throwing mud on him is not a good idea for any kid because he will freak out and go on a rant about how his beautiful fur must not be covered with such terrible things as mud.
Dislikes:
Dirt: Of course, the opposite of cleanliness is dirt. It's hard for Perci to be a goennec that dislikes getting dirty because of all of the natural dirt in his environment. Depending on the circumstance, Perci will sulk under a tree when there is too much soil in the air to keep clean. These occasions are rare.
Fighting: As mentioned, Perci doesn't like to fight because his fur might get bloody. He won't refuse to fight if he has to, but he would rather stay out of the blood and dirt bath fighting leads to. This dislike is unfortunate as he is a very capable fighter when he has to be.
Being Disrespected: Perci does not like people to talk poorly of him or talk back to him. He feels like doing so is an attack on him as a high ranking individual. He doesn't realize, however, that he often says something disrespectful to his conversation partner before they say something disrespectful to him.
